Newbie,, needs advice
Hey Guys I'm new to the forum,But real quick,My name is Santo,I'm from N.Y. and running an 04 Ram with a 5.9 all stock, I have around 75,000 miles and a check engine light came on so I did a check and iit came up with P0628,Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit Low Voltage ,at first it was just the light but driving home yesterday it stalled twice ,both times it started back up with lack of power when stepping on the pedal. OK my ? is,,, do I need a new lift pump, a relay, what else should I check, can I add one of those after-market pump just leave the other one on there ,, do the after market connect to the wiring that is there ,,, I'm lost and need help ... Thanks
It does sound like a lift pump. A set of gauges would tell you for sure. I installed a FASS 95 when my lift pump went south. Good kit not to bad of a install. Comes with all the wiring good instructions, and yes you will have to remove the stock pump it should be mounted on thr fuel filter housing. Some people prefer outher brands but the FASS has not let me down yet. What part of NY ya from? I grew up just south of Buffalo
I installed a Holley blue fuel pump and a Holley fuel filter under the cab in the frame . Easy to do and works great , also not too much money . I also use these pumps on all my race cars , they are very reliable too . just another idea to look into.

Check with your dealer first, as if it is a lift pump, it may be covered under warranty.
The only problem with a dealer replacing it under warranty is they will put it in the tank instead of the block. The intank pump is good but if it ever goes south its more of a pain to replace.
Thanks Guys ,,,I was able to find the OEM @ Geno's Garage 180.00 I should have it tomorrow ,,,, Hopefully that will do the trick ,,, I went under the truck and gave the old pump a rap and it started right up ,,, So that should be the answer,,,I hope when I replace it the 0628 goes away,,, I will update tomorrow ,,,,,,,,,,,,, Sandy
