Newbie here, Additives?
The only additives I use is Lucas injector cleaner and anti gel once the temps get down near zero degrees. The only ones I can see needing 2 cycle oil is those who own a 2nd Gen truck with VP/VE fuel pumps. Heck I know of many 1997-2005 Cummins engines in semi trucks that burn over 120 gallons of ULSD per day and have yet to report any problems from ULSD.

For what its worth I do run the Optilube XPD or their summer blend because biodiesel isn't readily available where I'm at. Your best bet is bio though if you can find it.
One thing I would certainly recommend for keeping a good fuel system is additional filtration.

As an OTR driver, I found Howe's DC able to handle all crappy fuel problems.
