New to diesel
I am new to diesel engines and I was just wondering how long it should take my cummins to warm up in the morning when it was plugged in for seven hours and the temperature was only 28f?

Lots of variables there, depends on how and where you drive it, what the ambient temp is etc. Mine warms up in about 5-10 miles after it's been plugged and the outside temp is below freezing.

That sounds normal.
I drive from 4000' to sea level everyday (downhill going in).
On cold days it can take a half hour to 45 minutes to get fully warm as I am doing a lot of coasting downhill. There is a lot of water in those cooling systems to get warmed up!

Rarely do we (Antioch, CA) get into the 20's, but when we do it's about 6-8 miles before I'm at 190.
As far as Soulezoo's comments, spot on.
Coming down out of Ice House, it takes to the grade just after Fresh Pond if I recall to warm up in the winter.
