Did all of you doubters read this thread on this site that I started back in April?
Here are two quotes from two others who posted in that thread:

I know we worried because with the 48 dropping we would have many guy/gals on the streets, which was not to be the case we have new product to build. just up the highway a few more miles to the newer plant. still one newer plant ,thats ITP 2 plant that builds the rear drive hemi powered magnums and 300's trannys which is german engineered.
and then a bit later

Bigger shafts should be a plus. I have not had a chance to check the bolt patterns to see if it may bolt up to a 3rd gen, but I will check that soon.
You are ignoring the facts from DC and you basically are calling the gentlemen liars, not me.

Yeah, hopefully they'll chime in. It would be nice to hear some more details on the tranny. Bigger shafts sounds promising. Not that I've ever had a problem at all with my 48RE, but I'm only slightly modded with a regular Quad box.
Yeah, me too. The other day I was pulling the travel trailer home from storage and I got on the throttle pretty good from a stop with the Quad box on the 60 hp setting and smoked my 325's for a second. No problems with my tranny (yet).

you are missing the point, i am just enjoying what i read from you, realize it or not you are getting a little bent out of shape. i personally do not care but, until i read otherwise and not just here i will assume one transmission with the possibility of 2 2200.00 U.S. is not all that high. i think the allison option is more with the gm products. i am to old and have seen to much speculation to care one way or the other. yes i am planing on buying late 2007 that will be my third dodge cummins combo. and i have had no problems out of anything yet and i have a 47re in mine.

Never underestimate the power of gov't to intervene when people are getting too happy...
Berak,
We have to know so don't hold back!
Are you saying there are two transmissions or a total of 4 in production for 07. Which is it.
Hey don't hit yourself so much you might get a traumatic brain injury with that wooden mallet in your posts.
I really want to know if the new 68 will have a braking system like the Allison or FMC tranny or some kind of locking convertor. I wish the 68 had the low first gear like the aisen. will just have to wait and see
