Driving home from Terra Haute yesterday i noticed my engine starting to chatter loud all of a sudden. Let off the accelerator and it quits, when you accelerate it goes away and then once you hold it at a steady rpm thats when its really noticable! Turned off my powermax- didnt help, unplugged my powermax with the bypass conn.- didnt help either. Whats the deal?

 

Have you checked for codes? Sounds like your in limp-mode. Whenever I get a P0192 code, my engine knocks like crazy and barely idles. Do you have a code reader? If not, one of you local auto parts places should have a loaner. Once you clear the code, it should be back to normal. My Quad Xzillaraider will throw a P0192 every now and then. I now keep a code reader in the truck, just for that. You can key on, key off three times as well if you just want to check for any codes.

 

There aren't any check engine lights. We'll check codes tom. afternoon. Truck runs fine just sounds horrible.

 

I don't know what's going on but when you floorboard it even in neutral it sounds like a a vp 24v. Like injector rattle from cylinder 3 or 4. Lots of clatter. any suggestions.

 

Sounds like Fuel Control actuator went bad. Part # 05183245AA

 

Do TSTs read rail Pressure? I damaged the power wire on my Qzilla rail pressure guage and had very similar symptoms.
