I dont know about the specifics of the Mobil filter for the CTD... But Mobil makes excellent filters for gasoline engines.

I have used one only one time when I could not get Fleetguard or Purolater Pure one oil filters. My self I only use filters approved by Dodge and Cummins on my truck so as to not have any hassle if I ever need warranty work. But what ever you do don’t use FRAM oil filters, as they have been known to screw up and have the filter media come apart inside of the filter and get in to the engine.

Ftltmp,

I have read that report before and think it is very informative. But, the mopar filter they describe is for the gas engines and not the diesel filter made by Fleetguard.

Peterbilt,

I agree you that you can not compair a gas oil filter to the Mopar one Dodge sells or uses for a diesel engine. The last time I heard Fleetguard still makes the Mopar oil filter for Dodge that they use on the CTD engine. Maybe that is why Fram oil filters fail on diesel engines as its a gas engine desinged oil filter and they can't hold up to the high oil pressure a CTD can put out.
