mega cab u joint

went to napa today to get a u joint for my 06 mega cab and they said that they can get one for the manual tranny, but the auto in the mega cab is a dealer only joint. I'm needing the rear most u joint just off of the rear diff. I have read on here that the spicer sealed bearings are the way to go, can I get them and anyone know a part #? thanks

x2. I need that u-joint (again) too. THe first time was replaced by dealer under warranty. I'll check tonight and post if I have any luck.

Can't imagine why the ujoints anywhere on the truck would be different between the auto and manual trans????

I had to replace my rear u-joint as well. Not a mega cab, but dealer only item and guess what... not greasable...

Manuals have a bigger u-joint to handle the stress of the clutch. I have replaced the rear two, got mine from Napa, no problem.

Picked one up last night. I haven't actually put it in or compared yet, but he said it was for automatic trans. AC Delco p/n 45U0306 and I think he said Precision 330. He said precision and AC Delco are the same manufacturer. It's greaseable, at least.

I found the P/N for the rear shaft in my truck at Rock Auto dot com. It specified Precision brand, I can't recall the P/ N right now. Anyway I needed them faster so I went to Orielly auto parts locally and they had the joints I needed. BTW, I got Orielly to price match too.

Just put the rear rear u-joint in my auto mega alst night. If you get the NAPA one make sure it is the 330A. The "A" has thinner clips, the plain 330 clips are to thick so seat the joint properly. Also the shoulder on the NAPA joint is much larger and had to buff it with a die grinder to get the joint to fit in the final yoke. Of course 3 cups dropped bearings during assembly also. What an afternoon!

Yeah, I battled with dropping needles too (on all three joints). It was amateur day at my house for sure, but perseverance paid off and I got er done.
