Manual trans and starting

How many of you guys start in second gear with a 6 speed manual tranny? Should I start in first gear all the time? The only time I do is when I am pulling the Fiver.

Most of starts with the stock clutch were in second, with the SBC DD i'm about 50/50 on first and second gear starts. Obviously, pulling a trailer, i always start in first.

I even started in 3rd a few times when just barely rolling. Mostly by accident though

2ND for me too, and sometimes I shift 2-4-6 ,and just wind it to about 1800rpms so as not to lug it. Dodge manual says not too skip gears, but I've shifting trucks since the author was in diapers.

When empty my shifting pattern is: 2nd start, 3rd, 5th, 6th, sometimes if I forget to got to 5th I shift from 4th to 6th.
