The only one I have heard of that is good is the OPti Lube oil Improver. Supposed to work wonders in the Crank, Diffs, and Manual Trans. Reduces wear etc. etc.. I have some here and Was going to use it in the oil but thought I would wait a bit.. You add 3% by volume... Have yo switched the Manual trans to AMSOIL?? Mine sure shifted smoother after installing it. The opti Lube site is

Is your truck a 2nd Gen as in signature? Really no need for additive if you are using synthetic as is recommended.

My '03 is becoming harder to shift as well. I'm gonna change the fluid pretty soon (@ 45,000 miles). We shall see if that makes a difference.

I changed to Redline and it made a slight difference. The thing that really helped mine was the upgraded hydraulics. My stock equipment kept slowly getting worse and it got harder to shift. The hydraulic upgrade was a huge improvement

Personally I wouldn't put additives in the manual. Just run a high quality synthetic like from Amsoil or Redline. The big NV5600 is cranky when cold anyway so take your time shifting until it warms up. Should shift smooth as butter when warmed up.

Amsoil works great in mine, even this morning at 18 deg.

Me neither. Not even sure these kind of additives are meant to be used with ATF fluid they put in our modern manuals. Maybe it's ok for the ones using regular gear lube but imo if your shifts are real rough and a quality synthetic fluid isn't helping there must be problems bigger than what a good oil can fix...

It is something you can easily do. Just make sure you have a drain pan for the 4-5 quarts of oil that come out. Take out the bottom inspection plate bolt to drain it and then you might be able to get the inspection plate off by taking the rest of the bolts out. Then you can check and clean the magnet.

It takes a 17 mm hex to remove the filler plug but make sure you can turn it before you drain the oil that is in it. Make sure the oil that you get to refill it is campatible for the tranny, I think it is something like SynchroMax. I put in Royal Purple and the name is similar.
