Exclamation Low Oil Pressure Code?

Well, the frost was really on the "punkin" this morning -19F. I have the block heater and a Kat's lower rad hose heater and both were plugged in. Coolant temp was 60F when I went to start her up. Grid heater cycled and she lit right off. I normally check for codes now and again, and to my surprise, it came up with the one for low oil pressure! No MIL. It came up again after the engine had been stopped, but I may not have completed the erase procedure the first time. Filter is only 500mi old and a Baldwin. I know the cluster oil pressure gauge is more of a moving idiot light but I was curious if anyone else ever got a LOP code? Looks like I'm getting me a mechanical oil pressure gauge. I'm using 15W40 and wondering if it was cold enough for the oil to partially block the pressure sensor? And NO, like a dummy, I erased it and forgot to write it down! The min pressures are only 10psi at idle and 30psi at 2500 RPM according to the service manual. BTW, I'm not real impressed with the rad heater so I may have to get the tank heater installed.

If the coolant temp was 60 I'd think the rest of the engine was pretty similar.... temp wise anyway. Keep us posted.

Rotella 15W40. No further codes for the rest of the day. Maybe it was just a hic cup, but I will be monitoring.

The pour point is -33*F, so you should have been fine. I say go with hic-up and continue to monitor.

Yeah, I'll just keep monitoring. If code reoccurs, I'm going to pull the bypass valve and check it over.
