Lift pump

I am realtively new here and I have been reading some of the threads on lift pumps. I've got almost 170k on my 03 3500 CTD and no problems to date. However, after reading what some of you all are saying, I have become worried.
What would you do? Swap out for a Walbro or FASS or just leave it be? BTW: what model Walbro would swap out in an 03?

Thanks in advance for replies!

WELCOME!

Im assuming you have an 03. But dont know much about the lift pump in 03's. this will bump it to the top! You need to fill out your signature so we know what you have!!

You fall outside the norm here IMHO. Welcome aboard though. I'd say your being wise to investigated/act on this. That lift pump failure could cause the dreaded injection pump failure for you! Act soon.
Cheers

First things first. Get a fuel pressure guage so you know what pressure you have now and in the future. If you plan on keeping the truck for awhile I would get a FASS II. Easy to install, 4 year - 400K mile warranty $380 complete. The Walbro set up is a good alternative, but no warranty, you have to plumb it yourself, and it is experimental at this point in time.

Or go to cummins and pick up a stock liftpump and throw it on for about 80 bucks (if I remember that other thread correctly) Good for another 170k
The lift pumps are not all doom and gloom as you would think reading here.
I do suggest a fuel pressure guage tho.
