I have a 04.5 I was going down the road it started spitting and sputtering then quit so Ichanged the lift pump cranked and ran for a few minutes then quit is the new lift pump bad or us it something else need help

 

i thought by 04.5 all of the lift pumps were moved to the tank. loosen the filter cap and turn the key on, if fuel comes out you have a different problem. i think you have a fca that is sticky most times you can clean it with break cleaner you should be able to shake it and hear and feel it rattle

 

The in tank pumps started with the 2005 models. To the original poster --> did you cycle the key on/off several times. Sometimes you have to bump the starter on the cycle to get the pump to run.
Just a thought.

 

Yea I've tried about everything I'm going to take the bed off so Ican get to it better iIddon't think I'm getting power to the pump but Itthankyou for the response its greatly appreciated
