Hey guys I have an 03 and I believe that I have a bad lift pump. I am not sure witch replacemnet to buy?? Any and all advice would be appreciated.

 

i ran a holley blue on mine it didnt cost me over 200 for it and the stuff to install

 

You'll get 100 different responses, and 100 different reasons as to those responses. You'll need to do a lot of reading on here and make the decision for yourself. Different systems have different advantages and disadvantages. Advice #2 I run the Walboro pump, myself. Easily replaced in the event it dies, with almost any other pump along the side of the road if necessary. Easy to modify the regulator to desired pressure, and reliable.That's why I chose it.

 

Thanks, another question are the aftermarket pumps hard too install? One other thing I can't seem to find my lift pump, I guess it should be on the back of the fuel filter but I don't have one. Is it possible that I could have an In-tank pump?

 

Very possible if it isn't on the back of the filter housing. Either that or someone has already installed an aftermarket lift pump. Been under the truck to look yet? Follow the fuel line from the canister to the tank. If no pumps, then listen to fuel cap area ( with the cap off) while someone bumps the starter to see if you can hear it.

 

The Glacier Walboro kits come with excellent instructions and are not hard to install at all. I think the hardest part was getting the old pump off as the back 2 allen heads were impossible to see and had to be done by feel.

The stock lift pump is on the back of the fuel filter canister, just follow your fuel lines from underneath the truck and you will see the little black pump with four allen head bolts holding it in. If it's not there it could have been changed under warranty to the in tank style.

 

I found my problem it was a bad fuse, or should I say a missing fuse....Oh Well,,,,and the truck has been converted to the in-tank style. Thanks for everyone’s help, I think I am going to go with a Walboro kit when i do decide to do the upgrade... Thank again!!!
