FWIW, when my canister-mounted lift pump failed, it gave no warning. It just quit while I was making a left turn at a busy intersection. Fortunately, I was able to complete the turn and coast to a stop (lots of fun with no power to steering or brakes). I could start the engine after a bit of cranking but it would only run a few seconds and stall again.

That's why I asked if you know what the lift pump pressure is.

It could be several things but lots of time it is fuel related. We would probably need more details of the problems you're having. And trust me, with all the knowledge on this site someone will pinpoint the problem! It just may take several questions and answers before we get there.
