Just had this TSB performed on my transmission..

I really like the results! The transmission no longer hunts between 1st and 2nd at low speed. The overall performance of the tranny is better too with firmer, more precise shifts. I highly recommend it.

Yes, it seemed to firm up the shifting overall, even my son noticed it.

My truck needs it done for the third time, 45,000 and change. This time it will cost me a hundred dollars on the extended warranty.

BGOTT.Show them receipts/history of the previous work. The service manager more then likely can self approve/override the deductible due to history of problem.FILL out your SIGNATURE also so we know what year/model truck you have.

Ditto, just had to have it done on my 07. Didn't really realize how sloppy the shifting had been until the 1-2 hunt showed up. Shifts better than ever now.

Just had this done to my truck and it does drive better but my fuel mileage went from just over 19mpg to just over 14mpg and that is calculating the mileage not the over head computer.

anyone know how much the dealer would charge if out of warranty? I have had this problem for a long time. tookl it to the dealer while in warranty and tehey couldnt figure it out let alone fix it. if too expensive, i could just replace teh solenoid myself and just have them flash it

the part is ~$120 bucks, plus cost of fluid.

it's pretty simple to do yourself, the hardest part is not spilling the fluid.

i would adjust the bands & do the filter while you are in there, thats three jobs at once.

i wrote up a simple how to with pix

most of the pix are on the photobucket link in that thread

hth.
