Just changed to Baldwin 7977 5 micron fuel filter

I can tell the truck started much faster. I did try and clean dirt off the bottom of the bowl but it was fairly clean. I always thought that a smaller micron would filter better but would be more restrictive for the cp3! Well it runs good or better and I didn't see white smoke this time. I have been having the problem as other 03's on these threads. I put a nice portion of Lucas and amsoil diesel supp. and it is very minimal now. Anyways for you Houston guys XL parts sells the baldwin for $16. Aaron

I'm not familiar with XL Parts. Planning to order a half dozen PF7977 for me and a buddy next month.

XL is a parts distributor and they sell to the public as well. They have a website as well. There is one on Stuebner airline between louetta and spring cypress or the main hub on 2920 and 45 accross the street from Race trac. I think between shipping and handling the internet is not much cheaper. Aaron

Cool. I'm driving by the 2920 store tomorrow morning. What time do they open?

i bought a case of them as well as a case of the oil filters....

just changed FF and oil at 10k miles...im hoping these work better than the stock junk

I beleive my stock filter let some trash through into the injectors...for about 1k miles mine did the white smoke on startup, even in 95 degree weather.

Question . Is this to replace drop in filter in factory canister? Sounds good. There is a truck parts place near me that sells Baldwin filters.
