Intake Tube??

I have a 2006 5.9 Cummins, Is there any company out there that makes a smooth intake tube that will fit my stock airbox?

Thanks!

Tony

Airaid makes one that replaces the baffle in between the filter and the turbo. It's around $55.

The AirRaid is too short, since it's designed for thier complete system. It'll work, but it just isn't "right".

The nice thing about the cool hose, is that it insulates better than the AFE type plastic tubes and the elbows are mandrel style. It will just flow better with out joints and pieces and such. I've been happy with my black hose.

forgot, they say that the aluminum makes the whistle real loud... plastic and rubber hides alot of it. that's why i bought the aluminum... if you don't like the noise i wouldn't do it that way.

You could gut the intake tube also.

I put the Cool Hose, referenced above, on just about 30 minutes ago. I got the black one and really like it. It gives a little more turbo whine than the stock tube but for the money I think its a good deal. Plus its expandable to a conical type filter in the future if you want it.

Just be sure to clean the thing out when you get it. Mine had all kinds of little fibers from the cardboard box inside. Wiping out wont work so I ran water through it last night and let it air dry then installed today.

Cool Hose install

Just like Dave B mentioned above before installing the Cool Hose make sure theres nothing inside it. I like to wipe down the turbo flange, the airbox flange and the inside of the hose with alcohol before installing. It helps it seat real nice.
