Installed new injectors, now rough idle and tons of white smoke!!

I installed new Scheid Lightning 50 injectors today, and now it runs really rough, like a cylinder misfiring maybe and blows tons of white smoke. It also idles funny, when i come to a stop it seems to increase in RPM (like a runaway scenario) but then settles back down slowly. It also responds really slow when driving it to throttle input. If I let off the throttle is takes awhile for it to go down in RPM and has minimal power when I give it throttle. I installed it according to an '04 write up, are there any differences with the '06?? I also installed new connector tubes and a GDP 2-micron filter kit. I'm looking for ideas!!! What did I do wrong and what can I look for to help diagnose this without pulling everything back apart (I will if I have to of course)

Any codes? Injector torque 89 in. lbs new copper crush gastket and proper thickness. HPC tubes at 37 ft. lbs. I would recheck all the injector bolts make sure you didn't forget to tighten one properly. You could have gotten a bad injector. Remember to keep everything clean. I usually use brake clean and then blow everything off before I take fuel lines off. Did you replace valve cover gastket also? The gastkets have been updated because of wiring connections failing. The new gastket has cover over wiring to keep oil out. If you have a DVO meter check resistance to each injector should be all the same value. Stock injectors should be less then 1 ohm but more then 0 ohms, If that checks good make sure you are not getting compression pressure in return line. Run a clear plastic hose from injector return into a bucket there should be no air bubbles. Or you can cap off injector at the rail until you find injector causing the white smoke That's if it is just one injector causing problem. Good luck

Yeah I did all the proper torque applications, but I'll go over them again tomorrow. The injectors are from Scheid and are brand new. I know there are no guarantees, but I am figuring I messed up somewhere versus a bad injector.

Pulled 3 of the injectors and one of them is clean as a whistle on the tip and the other 2 are blackened already. Without being an expert I am guessing that this means the injector isn't firing?? What else might it be if not the injector?

Did you check the resistance of wires to the injector? Is the resistance of injector that's clean the same as the others?

No since I don't have a voltmeter. It ran fine 24hrs ago, what would cause it to not work now?

Try swapping injector with one of your stock injectors see if white smoke stops. Might just be that one injector is bad. Something could have gotten into that injector to cause it to stick open.

Good luck, remember to keep fuel lines clean and oil o-rings before installing injectors.
