I have an 05 cummins, 93000 miles , truck runs great, but after I park the truck it leaks diesel from the pump area, fittings are tight, seems to be coming from the pump itself. I do have an edge ez, but only run it on 1or2. anyone else have this problem?

 

yes, many do, if u take it in it is covered under warrenty, but dont be surprised if that one leaks too. mine will be going in for it soon, it doesnt bother me i just want to get the new pump on it for $100

 

Mine does it too but only when it's really cold outside.

 

do you think that the edge ez box is causing it. I am not sure if the box changes timing, or fuel pressure. I have talked to edge a couple of times , but no one can tell me, one time they may say timing ,the next guy may say fuel pressure.

 

I have had alot of them replaced !!!!!!
Any "Box" that plays with "pressure" will make them LEAK. The pump is not set up for that kind of extra internal pressure spikes. The damage is done from the presure and the COLD weather makes leaks.

 

Don't waste your time having it changed unless it is leaking really bad. When the temperature drops below 15-20 degrees mine leaks a fifty-cent piece sized spot on the driveway overnight. It will stop when the temperature warms up. I got tired of the inconvenience of having it replaced every winter just to start leaking again. The last replacement was the supposed new and improved seal design but it still leaks every winter.

 

I second that unless you just want a new pump under warranty??

 

i have fixed mine myself and had great luck out of it. i can take the pump apart on put new seals in and orings between the 2 halves.

Just had mine replaced a few weeks ago under warranty. I wouldn't worry unless its real bad. Dealer wouldn't do anything last year because they couldn't get it to leak at all in the 70 deg shop. So during a real cold spell in WA a few weeks ago took it in and it was dripping all over their floor. They leak between the two halves of the pump when its cold because one half is aluminum and the two different metals contract at different rates when its cold. If the new one leaks i will probably just replace the o-ring and seals, i think you can get some good viton ones. Dwitt0187 what did you use?

 

yes i used viton it is the only thing that will hold up to the heat and the fuel i done mine 2 years ago and it hasnt dripped a drop sense.
