A little oil
A little oil
I am sure this has been addressed before but I couldn't find the exact same problem I am having. I have been noticing a half dollar size puddle of oil from my breather tube the last couple of months. There is a filter or something under the valve cover. Would changing this help with this problem I am having. I checked my oil and it is not over full and didn't appear to smell like diesel fuel, of course my cold isn't helping that. I hardly drive the truck and it never did this before. I doi have a Edge Juice on it but only use the 1 or 2 setting and really don't beat the truck. It has 38,000 mile on it. I keep reading about injectors being bad and was wondering if there is any check for this?
There is a plastic thing under the cover on the valve cover. I think it's more of an oil seperator than a filter. There was a thread a while back where someone removed it and flushed it out with kerosene.
If you had an injector leaking fuel into the engine, I'd think you would be seeing the oil level rise.

i wouldn't worry about a few drop, that is what the breather tube is for. Mine always leaves a few drops, i don't worry unless its a trail...
if you had an injector leaking down in addition to rising oil level, oil smelling like diesel and looking dilluted, i would also expect white smoke at start up and running rough. I think your fine...
