Idle Options ??

I am from the frozen north and wanted to know what options I have for a high-idle (fast- idle ?) during warm-up or extended idle periods in the cold.
I heard about a TSB for a fast idle through the cruise control, however I do not think it is available in my '03.

Looking for suggestions.....

Thank you in advance

Install an espar or similar heater. Keep the engine nice and toasty even at -40, uses less fuel than idling and you can use a remote control to turn it on or a timer.

strokethisctd,
after you have programmed your truck with the bully dog, you should be able to set you high idle with the cruise control, with the truck at idle in park, & no foot on the brake, turn on the cruise & hit set & you can adjust it up & down with accel & decel. I know my 04 worked this way after I programmed it

I usually set mine around 1100-1200 warms up nice, also keeps it nice & cool on hot summer days, air cond. works a little better at high idle. a side benefit it may eliminate problems that I've heard people having with DC saying "too much idle time" when they have injector problems

A friend of mine as a device on his powerchoke that allows him to set the idle up. is consists of an on/off toggle switch and a dial that you use to adjust the RPM's. anyone one ever heard of something like this for dodges? i would like to have some way to set my idle up also, wonder if you can "trick the computer into thinkin its an auto and using your cruise????

I got mine through a local Dodge dealer, on the box it says dieselservices.com.

It works great, push button to speed up, tap brake to slow, **** for rpm+/-

If the intake air temperature is low enough on a 2003, it will fast idle by itself after about 2 min but don't idle any more than absolutely necessary.
