How much does milage go down w/ 315's
Hello, let me try to answer the questions that came my way.
first off, I had the mud gaurds on the truck with stock tires. I tow trailers and every tire kicks something up. the bfg's do chuck rocks. I don't have any rock chips behind the mud flaps so they must protect the body good enough
the chrome wheel arches, well again, I did that before the big tires. I just like the look of them. they stick out only slightly more than the factory wheel arch. mostly a decrative function more than anything else in my opion.
the 315 bfg's on my stock rims do stick out slightly wider than the body, but the outside edge of the tire must not be what chucks rocks. I have no chips on my paint around the wheels (or anywhere else for that matter) from the tires.
I have not been through a winter yet, I got my tires early april 04, so not sure how that will be.
I upgraded tires mostly because I could get stuck on level ground wet grass (well almost). the stock michelins are a great highway tire, but I get off highway to much. plus I like the more butch look of the 315's.
I hope that info helps!

Your comments made me check...Sorry, I mis-spoke. I'm at 5 on front! I always found anything under 5 was loose & bouncy with our heavy front ends?? But that's on a 2nd Gen 4x4...Has there been a suspension change? I tend to be heavy footed...Maybe I just like a firmer ride.

I've only had my 315s for about a week but I'm seeing 1 or 2 MPG better on the highway and about the same as before in town. I had some fender rubbing initially but the shop that put my lift kit on seems to have fixed it. I'm not sure exactly what they did though.
