How does the milage computer work?
Greeting,
I noticed when I installed my new Mach 1.5 injectors the milage computer said I was getting 33 miles per gallon on the freeway. I tanked all the way up then I drove for about 50 miles and retanked. The milage computer said I should be getting 26.4mpg but the tankup said I made 22mgp. Does the computer have to be calibrated for new injectors?
Thanks

Forget the mileage computer,,,,,,,,,,,
javamann,
My mileage computer was almost dead on with the mpg results when I compared it to the old fashion calculating by hand. This is when the truck was slam stock. After adding the EZ, it started reading high compared to hand calculation. I figured this was because the ECM was being lied to because of the EZ.
As far as I know, there is no way to calibrate the computer, at least I've never read about it on any of the diesel sites. Most opinions are that the mileage readouts are not that accurate even when the truck is completely stock.
Maybe someone else has a different answer.
