Inserting a picture, you first need to submit pictures in your gallery provided by this website.
Then go to your gallery and copy the IMG then go to post a message and click the little yellow box above your message text (insert image) and paste the IMG and there you have it.

Also please fill out the signature of your truck, so we all know what you have when you ask your questions!

Gear ratio can be easy to figure out. You need to jack up the rearend, get the rear tires off the ground and put some jackstands under the rear end. Make sure the front wheels are chocked somehow. Put your trans in neutral. You can put a mark on your driveshaft with a small piece of tape, maybe 3", running lengthwise of the shaft. This is the starting point. Then you want to turn your rear wheels by hand while looking and counting the number of times your driveshaft makes a complete revolution as you make one full revolution of your rear tire. When your rear tire has made one complete turn and you've counted the times the shaft has turned you'll know. If it turns more than 4 times, you've got the 4.10 to 1 rear gear. If it's less than 4, then its most likely the 3.73. This is the easiest way I know of, aside from looking at your window sticker...

Ok you could go about it the hard way or what rpm are you at running 70? If you run around 2200 you either have 4.10s with the NV-5600 or 3.73 with the G-56. To tell the difference between the two transmissions is where the reverse is. If it is up and to the right it's the NV. Down and to the left is G-56

Did you look in your glove box? In mine there's a sticker with the gear ratio on it. You definately have an 11.5" rear axle.

The 05 trucks have the G56 6 speed and they only come with the 3.73 gears. So you have 3.73s. The G56 is already geared so low that 4.10s would be ridiculously low geared.

If your truck was an 04.5 or before it would have the NV5600 6 speed and they come with either a 3.73 or 4.10s.

The automatics can come with either gear ratio also for all 3rd gens.

To post a pic.........go to your gallery and click on the pic you want to post. Now look down at the bottom and you will see a line that says "UBBcode". Right click and highlight that whole line and save it. Go to the thread you want to post it in.........and right click and paste it. Voila.
