You know you're in Alaska when it's 15 degrees outside and you see a guy on a rice-burning street cycle buzzing down the road in the hopes that spring will be here soon.

Did the SRW handle the trip better/worse than DRW's?

I've never actually driven a DRW so I don't know but the trailer is very light (about 3000#?)--all aluminum and it towed like it wasn't even there. It's a custom horse trailer from 4 star trailers in OK city. Very nice. A real nice guy on TDR bought it and had me tow it up for him.

Cool

Yes this is a great state! I just bought 10 acre's of recreational property up in Trapper Creek (1hr north from me). Sit's up on a ridge with a view of Mt. McKinley, Mt. Hunter and Mt. Foraker. You want to talk about a VIEW! It is stunning! So I sold my soul and bought it. I'll try to get some pics of it soon, all I have now is video.

started in nj to ok city, ok that was 1500 miles, then i think about 3700 to delta junction, ak, did it in exactly 7 days which comes out to ~740 miles per day.

i'll have to say my favorite day was only about 450 miles long going from yellowhead 16 up BC 37. 450 miles of dirt/gravel/badly paved roads all twisty, turned and tons of huge hills.

i took the fun route there which was going up through idaho on US 95, went through glacier national park and jasper national park which was a lot more scenic than coming home all the way on the alaska highway.
