On the plastic black valve cover, drivers side is a white sticker.

If it says 305 HP 555 torque its an 04.

Another easy way is to look for a cat (provided you have a stock exhaust)

Its under the drivers side battery tray on 2003.5 to 2004.5
on the pedal for 2005+
on the engine for pre-2003.5

This is manual trans only

for autos its different (2004.5 and prior is on engine, 2005 and beyond is on the pedal).

didn't know you could get a 325 hp before 04.5, 04.5 325 hp trucks can have them in all of the mentioned locations, just ask or read the quad box threads, mine is on motor as is jeremy from quadzilla, gichugoat found his under the battery tray and others have them at the fuel pedal..... model year changes tend to clean out the parts bin.

OK now ya have me curious. What is the TPS??? In my mind it should be the Throtle Position Sensor but if thats the case i cant for the life of me figure out how it could be under the battery tray. The only way I could see that working is if its throttle buy wire and it still would make no sense to put it there and not just directly on the foot pedal.

yup, two out of three placements for the throttle position sensor still have a cable system, the one on the engine, and the one under the battery tray. precious lucky buggers get it down by the peadal and makes it so much easier for boxes that require tappin the wire. Also less prone to cable frezeup problems and less prone to trouble after washing the engine and having no throtle/

You couldn't get a 325 before 2004.5, but the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) changes were happening before 2004.5.

They used the under batter tray for the manual only because they had no way of replacing the "kick down" / TV cable for the auto trans. The under battery tray TPS was a cost reduction (it was the same one used on the HEMI).

They finally figured out how to do it for 2005 and had another cost reduction to go to the TPS on the pedal for both auto and manuals (using a little electric motor for the TV cable, now called the transmission throttle valve acuator or TTVA).
