How can I tell what gears I have?

I'm sure it's simple, but I have no idea what gears I have in my truck. 2005 2500 4x4 auto with the CTD of course. Can anyone help me?

you can check your build sheet for the axle ratio, or axle code. Or, there should be a tag somewhere on the axle housing itself, telling you what the ratio is.

Thanks, do you happen to know what code stands for what ratio?

Check the inside of your glovebox door for a build sticker.

I see your truck is brand new! It should be listed on the trucks price sticker.

Lets say you're running down the highway at 2200 rpm and have stock tires/wheels on her;

if you're doing about 73 mph - you've got 4.10's.

if you're doing about 80 mph - you've got 3.73's.

If its not mentioned on the window sticker, it will have 3.73. But, there is a option tag sticker in the glove box to confirm.
