My 2007 5.9 is getting close to 250,000 miles its burning oil and noticing my tranny is leaking fluid. What do i need to consider maintenance on the motor, and where do i start with the transmission?

I haven't driven my truck very much in the past couple months i checked the oil in the motor and nothing showed on the dipstick. It has me worried i can't afford for anything to happen to this truck and i need suggestions on what to do and look for asap this is also my first diesel pickup and to be honest i know very little about them.

Replace the rear main seal.

I inspected mine at 100000 miles when I replaced my clutch and was surprised to see that it was leaking.

Remove tranny, rebuild tranny and replace rear main seal while it's removed.
