If I remember right, the TSB has the procedure to enable it. If so, print and take it to the dealer. Good luck.

I think for the 6-speeds you only need to buy the steering wheel switches.

If you have cruise control, the steering wheel already has the switches.

Just to pass along and make sure this has been cleared up...

This option is only available on the 06's. I just went to the dealer and had them enable it. One of the tech's has an 05 and it cannot be done. Aparently the 06's (and 07's) are the only ones that current use the Star Scan to diagnose problems in the truck. Once in the star scan menu, it is simply a matter of selecting which options you want turned on... Kind of like selecting what options you want to install when setting up windows on your computer.

In addition to this I had them turn on the Key off/power on feature. This leaves the power on after you turn the key off as long as you do not open the door. I love this feature and was happy to have them turn it on for me.

Helpful hint: Ask them to do this while you are having some other service done on the truck. I was getting an oil change and diff swap and they didn't charge me for the 2 minutes it took to turn these features on.

Have fun!

Travis

I had the High-Idle enabled with the StarSCan tool but the tech could not get the feature to work and neither could I. THe tool says it is enabled. Since I have a 6-speed. What else needs done ?

Install the clutch switch package and ECU pin.

Is that what it is called? "Clutch switch package and ECU pin" ? I thought you had this when you had a vehicle with cruise control. Is that not the case ?

Not with the manual. It is pin 22 of the ECU B connector, the PTO designation in the FSM. The package consists of 2 pieces and part numbers, a clutch switch and a pin and length of wire. All you have to do is ground the wire in the PTO slot and enable the high idle in the ECU and it will work. Take a look back in this thread as I think somebody posted the part #'s.

This option is only available on the 06's. I just went to the dealer and had them enable it. One of the tech's has an 05 and it cannot be done
I am amazed that somebody would post this garbage without even reading the thread it is posted in. It is total BS and patently untrue. Lets clear this upright now The high idle will work on all these trucks back to the 04 models. All you have to do is ground the PTO wire and enable the software. The 03's I don't know about.
