have a code need help

i have a code P0483 have noe clue what it is does anyone know what it is and how to fix it

The code is for fan speed, not sure if its overspeed or under speed though. Looks by the manual that the fan clutch might be shorted. It says to check and clean the connector, and then check it for continuity. if it is less than 10 ohms, the clutch is shorted.

a while back i had a prob. and 3 wires at the connector under the fan got cut. i fix them and hook the colors back toghter like they should have been. and ever since then i have had that code and my fan drive stay ingauged at all times. does it say what wires to ohm out

looks like on the fan clutch side you want to check for more than 10 ohms between the brown/light blue wire, and the dark green and yellow wire. If im reading the schematic right, that will be pins 2 and 3.

ok thanks hopefully i can figure it out man that fan drive is loud and gets old hearing.

I didnt realize it until just now, but what I told you was for an 06. You need to fill out your signature so we know what we are dealing with. There is also a website that you can download the service manuals. I think it was www.hemiram.com, but i may be wrong. Thats how I got the info I gave you.

i looked at that web site and i found nothing. does anyone konw why my fan is locking up all the time i get in my buddys truck and i never here the fan come on when he turns on. and i still have code P0483 and my wires are back toghter just like they should be

I have same problem with my truck. The local diesel shop said the fan clutch is no good. You can get a new one for around 300 bucks. or you can go to the dealer and pay 400 plus there time to fix it.
