Hard start, ruff idle, knocking, no power
cummings engine control computer
Does anybody Know where you can get a new computer for a 2006 dodge . it seems that when I sent my computer out to have it checked out . they said it bench tested ok. but the mechanic that I have working on it says that the computer is not grounding out injector #6 . the company
that I sent it to said that they could only check out the computer system to a centain level . That company is AUTO Module Source,4690 SW 83rd Terrace,Davie FL.33328. Does anybody Know anything about this company . ??? they want to sell me a new computer for 800.00 they say that when you order it you give them the vin #and the milage and they program it so you just have to plug it and rebolt it to the side of the engine and everything will work.

I purchased my ECM from dieselecmsource.com, my truck has a ECM & PCM
When the PCM was eliminated in 2003, the ECM took control of the diesel engine and transmission
I had to give them my millage, vin# and part# off the factory ECM
Do not get fooled by their plug & play statement, It always has to go to the dealership afterwards to get unlocked, you'll find this out after more reading online with others who have went this route including myself, truck would not start after new ECM was installed, if I would have known that it needed to go to the dealers regardless I would have just purchased a good used ECU second hand somewhere and just got the dealer to reprogram for a lot less then the rout I took.
Now I may need a new PCM to fix my "Limp Mode"

Finally fixed my limp mode, turned out it was the "skim fuse", which explaines why nothing would communicate with it. 3 shops and no 1 checked the fuses. I showed up at the shop with my tester in hand determined to find out whats wrong, after the mechanic telling me hes at a loss and basically gave up on it, pluged in new fuse and bam back to normal. Drove it home, washed it, reloaded my smarty #4, started perfect. Pluged my DR.Performance chip in to piggy back with smarty and *** starts acting up like it did when the ecm went. ITS A NEW ECM ....NOT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
After reading this link http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/91...0-p0251-2.html
I did exactly as they did and it worked perfect, even have smarty#6 loaded with no issues, not going to piggyback with DR.P any moor just in case. Its been a long road for me but there is finally light at the end of the tunnel
cheers
