Noticed a little while back that my G56 was just seeping, not enough to drip, just enough for a slight oily film from the top. I traced it all the way up to the shift tower Area. I think I have one of those famous seals leaking. I degreased it and it takes about 6-7,000 miles to really even notice it, so very slow. Are there any fixes out there that have been holding up well for you guys? Thanks!

 

Just pulled my trans and there's a vent on top right next to the shift tower. It was/is seeping, but like you said, not enough to drip. I just left it since not dripping. If it starts dripping, I was thinking fo running a vent line up to the firewall.
Unless it's the shifter boot, then see the thread below this one!

 

Thanks! It very well could be the vent. Especially when it's that slow. Plus on all the threads on shifter boot issues they report smelling fluid in the cab and it;s fairly strong smell. I have not experienced that!
