Oil seepage on backside of intake compressor on turbo

Here I am 1600 miles away at my parents in DE. Checking the truck over this am and noticed oil seepage on the backside of the intake compressor. Around where that big snap ring is. It doesn't look fresh but like it has been doing it for a while. I take it that it is a seal.

I still have been getting good boost #'s. I noticed there is a light film of oil on the fins on the intake side. Wheel has some play, but never touches the sides.

Here is my dilemma. I leave Friday for MN. Tomorrow the truck goes in to get the new OFE put in that I have been carting around with me for 6 mos. Smoked it bad two days before I left and the trip here put its finishing touches on it. One too many 6 lane into 2 toll booths. Is the turbo something that I can put off until I get home or should it require immediate attention.

Thanks in advance guys.

P.S. Truck has 51k on it.

Oil leaking into the intake side can be bad news. If the leak gets bad enough, the engine will run on the oil leaking into the intake and cause a runaway. Doesn't sound like yours is nearly that bad yet. If you're real worried about it, I would be willing to lend you my old H1C to ride home with. Whereabouts in DE are you? I'm only about 10 miles from the PA/DE border.

I was looking at your sig some more and had a thought. Could it be you've been a little over-enthusiastic with the filter oil on the Scotty II?

Here's some quick pictures I just took.
This is the backside.

Here's intake side.

On the intake side you can see a thin oil/residue line at the edge of the fins. There was no puddles anywhere. You can see where I wiped it off in about the 5 o'clock position.

Wanna,

I appreciate the offer. My parents are in Glasgow/Newark area. 6 miles from 95 and 896. I haven't reoiled the scotty 2 yet. I'm wondering if it could be from my old k&n drop in.

Thanks guys.

Looks like more oil than you could suck out of an air filter. If it was bad enough to puddle, I think you'd be smoking blue pretty bad. I think it's the seal, but I haven't had enough experience with these things to venture a guess as to whether it's safe to run another 1600 miles. Let me know if you want to borrow the H1C, I'll bring it down and help you swap it on.
