funny sound at shutoff

Hi just reading about weird noise from tranny, sounded little like my situation. About every 3rd or 4th time i shut off truck it makes a very strange kinda squishin , blowin noise! Anyone got an idea?? not very good discription i no

Yes, even though it is hard to believe, the noise is normal.

A lot of compression in various places on this engine. Just air bleeding off. We all get a little at shut down.

I always thought it was the fan belt trying to keep going after the the engine stops fast due to the high compression...

That's what causes the chirp at shutdown.

Blowing, squishing noise could be the A/C compressor spinning down, venting it's presure, the Turbo spinning down.

Mine growls occasionally, usually right after the chirp.
Guess it doesn't like to be turned off ;D
