Question That funny gushing sound!

My new rig (2 months, 1200 miles) did a strange thing the other day. I pulled into my driveway and inadvertently caught reverse on the way from drive to park. It went into reverse with an unusual bang followed by what sounded like a small waterfall coming from underneath the front of the truck! The whole thing lasted about five seconds and has not occurred before or since. I was at a complete stop with the engine at idle, and the air conditioning was off. Everything seems to be fine now and there was no external leak of any kind. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts on what might have happened and what it means? Thanks!

Fredbert...sounds like coolant moving through the heater core to me. I have heard it on different vehicles. Never heard it on our trucks though. Generally there is an air bubble trapped in the cooling system that will cause this sound. After a number of thermal cycles the sound will go away because the air bubble works its way to the top of the radiator. Just a thought.
