Fuel milage for new CTD 2500 4x4 4.10
Made a short trip today of about 120 miles mostly interstate driving at 65 to 80 mph and did not baby this hog. I now have 5600 miles on my 2004.5 CTD with 4.10 and 315s and 48re.... I got 19 mpg. That is the best yet.
I have 8000 miles on my 04.5 on mine and I now average 15 mixed, with the driveing being more hwy than city. The overhead seems to be really close to the actual sometimes, but not consistant. I get 11-13 in town and upwards of 18-19 when I am steady cruising at 60 empty. I towed about 6000 pounds 460 miles this weekend and it got 11.25 going 65-70 mpg. I love the truck, the pwr and driving it. The mileage issue is not quite so bad now, it was just a bummer when my expectations were than it would get better than my 2001 did. Car salesman are lieing scumbags..., what can I say.
2005 Ram 3500 4x4 Long Box, Quad Cab, with 4.10:1 gears.
Worst mialage 10.5 MPG pulling around 9,000-10,000 lbs into strong winds (and in the mountians) at 75+ MPH.
Unloaded and driving easy I can get 20 MPG, but usually average around 17-18 MPG in combined driving conditions.

One day before Jesus comes back we will come to the realization that the 4.10s are the best pulling and milage gear for the 325/600-610 motors. This motor likes higher rpms that the older motors.
