ctd fuel milage

I have been looking at diesel trucks for fuel milage and I was wondering what people are getting with the new dodge 4x4 auto trans ,and the 6spd. I dont do a lot of towing but I need a 4x4 truck when I do.

Mid 17's with 1300miles and the 18-037-04 TSB. 35 miles each way. Over 80 for 1/2 of it and stop and go the other 1/2. Don't baby it either. Fuel mileage was big part of my purchase too.

But w/Diesel being $0.35 more than gas the 4.7L gasser QC SB 4wd 1500 loaner I'm drivin at 14.4 mpg is still the same $$$ to me right now. Driveshafts off being balanced - still - 4 buiseness days so far....

Most of my miles are in town. If I had to guess, I would probably gain a couple MPG's for the highway. Not bad for a 7200# rig...

My 04.5 3500 4x4 with a 6 spd was getting 19.9 on the hwy keeping it under 70. I get 16 to 17 driving back and forth to work. I don't have a whole lot of stop and go. The truck has 9000 miles

I might be a 5 speed but the fuel mileage is great... Check out the signature!

Well I see there is a lot of people upset with the idea of diesel being highier!

I'm currently paying... Diesel $2.679 Gas $2.299

In my Automotive Wolf Software I've been keeping a full fuel record of both trucks (Mom's - GAS and Mine - DIESEL)

It is costing me $0.07 per mile (or 21 MPG) to run the diesel truck compared to $0.13 (or 12 MPG) for the gasoling truck. Still even with the price of diesel high its still better to run my diesel truck.

DIESEL - 500 miles - 21 MPG - 23.8 Gallons - $63.76
GASOLINE - 250 miles - 12 MPG - 20.8 Gallons - $47.90

Now to catch GASOLINE to DIESEL x2 = $95.79 to run 500 Miles!

I'm still smiling when I see gasoline trucks filling and I know better!!!

Running at 55mph, 21 Hwy, 13.5 towing combined 19,500lbs in fifth gear, not sixth, flat land.

Interstate 70mph 17.5 to 18.0mpg depending on fuel. 75mph 16mpg

Towing @65 10-11 mpg. 70mph 10mpg. <65mph is better. Loads engine to much below 60 in 6th.

Best fuel on East Coast is in NC in my opinion.
