Don't believe what the overhead says, hand calculate it. And depending on your driving conditions, 16 - 17 is not all that bad. Just my opinion after reading countless MPG posts on this form. Do a search and you can read all the MPG threads you will want. Good luck.
thanks for the reply ssandlin i work on a drilling rig in alberta canada and get my fuel from the rig so it is hard to tell how many gallons i put in it but the next time i have to buy fuel at the gas station i will try that cant beat the price of fuel at the rig (free) what kind of fuel milage do you get with your truck. did a search like you said lots of guys say they get close to 20 and over are most of them bsing or what just would like to know what guys are getting truthfully thanks again for the reply
I have 46K miles on my truck now, and get 18 - 19 mpg (hand calculated) as long as I keep it under 2000 rpm and am not fighting a head wind. This is a mix of 75% highway and 25% city driving on a daily basis back and forth to work. I also run 70 psi in my front tires and 60 in the back when not loaded and use a very light foot on the go pedal. There are so many variable that go into mpg. Most of the folks that get 20 mpg or better have 2nd gens, which did get better fuel mileage than our 3rd gens. I might even get more than 20 mpg in mine if I were to take a highway trip and not drive over 60 mph, but that ain't gonna happen, too slow, not to mention I'd get run over driving only 60 mph.
By the way, wish I had your deal of free fuel.....it's $3.39/ gallon here in central Texas.

My '07 gets 15 in town,19 at 60mph (1900rpms) and 17 at 70mph (about 2300rpms). Its rare that I do more than 70,with the G56 and 3.73s the rpms get out of control much past 70.
I've got almost 12,000 miles on it.

3.39 a gallon thats not to bad i checked here in calgary and its anywhere from 1.06 to 1.10 a litre there is 4 litres to a american gal do the math over 4 bucks a gal what a rip off

I beat all for accuracy. I had 245's on and put 285 70 17's on stock steel wheels. I GPS'ed it to get the exact mileage. And the results are in. 15 on the button. 430 miles on just under 30 gallons. Stock la rue other than a roktech and muffler delete option. Ultra low sulfer too.
I need to update my sig.
05, 2500, quad, 4x4, 373, 6 speed, 285 75 R17, Roktech, gutted air tube.
PS: BUY THE ROKTECH!!!!! Definately worth it. Runs cooler and is snappier. No real change in mileage, might be a half a mile?
Shook the trailer for the winter. Running empty.

I have about 40K on my 05 now (auto). My daily commute is 20mi each way, 7 miles on the hwy, 7 miles a 50mph limit with a few traffic lights and 6 miles up and winding mountain road. Average mileage just doing that is 19. On my highway trips (unloaded) running 65-70mph I always gets about 21mpg occasionally 22. The only mod my truck has seen was the Rokktech sensor. I picked up 2 mpg from it.
