Yes, they went to a 7 micron instead of a 10. Still can get them through mopar or fleeguard.

Just a thought. I have an 04.5 and installed a 7 micron filter. Drove from Michigan to Florida fine but after about 16K miles (sorry ment 1600 miles)on the filter truck started running poorly, especially bucking and stalling. After 4 days changed out to the original 10 micron filter and truck now runs fine. I do have the intank fuel pump so pump should be adequet so only can blame the finer filtration unless someone else has another idea.

The service interval was changed to 10k for the 7 micron filter? Is this official from DC or just what people have been doing?

Sorry, I posted that wrong, should have been 1600 miles, not 16000. I usually change between 5-10K miles but due to this trip I changed sooner and noted millage when I installed the 7 micron filter. After arrriving in Florida after 4 weeks problems started. When I removed filter it was fairly clean, no major black spots or anything that looked dirty so only thing I could see was that the filter was partially plugged in my opinion.

Sounds like the filter is doing it's job. Possible you got some contaminated fuel on your trip. Water alone would not turn the filter black. I'd think if you put on another 7 micron filter you would have ran on just fine. I've been doing big trucks for 30 years & ain't found to good of a filter yet.
