Fuel Filter drain?

First oil change, so I also flipped the lever to the fuel filter to let it drain. It came out VERY slow. I let it run for maybe 15-20 seconds and closed it back up. I didnt get much out. Outside temp was approx. 45-50 if that matters.

Is this the experience that you guys have when you drain yours?

Did you push it all the way over to the right? Even with a clogged filter it would still drain the housing.

The drain is for the canister before the filter where the water should be if you have any. It does drain slow.

sorry! Let's try that again! Says for 03, but I would bet it will work for all of them. Here:

SUBJECT:
Fuel Filter/Water Separator Drain Valve Restriction
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves draining some fuel from the Fuel Filter/Water Separator drain valve.
MODELS:
2003 (DR) Ram Pickup
NOTE: THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 5.9L
CUMMINS 24 VALVE DIESEL ENGINE (SALES CODE ETC OR ETH), BUILT
BEFORE OCTOBER 11, 2002 (MDH 1011XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
When the Fuel Filter/Water Separator drain valve is opened, nothing comes out.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the Symptom/Condition is present, perform Repair Procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. With the engine not running. Place a drain pan under the Fuel
Filter/Water Separator drain hose.
2. Open the Fuel Filter/Water Separator drain valve to it’s fully open
position (90 degree rotation).
3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position (do not start the engine), this will run
the fuel lift pump for 2 seconds. As the fuel lift pump runs, it will purge fluid out
of the Fuel Filter/Water Separator drain hose into the drain pan.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
5. Cycle the Fuel Filter/Water Separator drain valve several times from open to
closed. At this point the Fuel Filter/Water Separator drain valve should continue
to function properly. If the Fuel Filter/Water Separator drain valve does not
drain properly, repeat steps 1 through 5 again.
NOTE: THE NORMAL FLUID FLOW FROM THE FUEL FILTER/WATER
SEPARATOR DRAIN HOSE IS A STREAM THAT IS BETWEEN 1.6 MM
AND 3.2 MM (1/16 AND 1/8 IN.) DIAMETER.

Thanks Guys, I'll ask a stupid question rather than wonder if there is a problem.

"THE NORMAL FLUID FLOW FROM THE FUEL/WATER SEPARATOR DRAIN HOSE IS A STREAM THAT IS BETWEEN 1.6MM AND 3.2 MM(1/16 AND 1/8 IN.) DIAMETER."

That is about what I have coming out, so I'm good to go. Thanks for the great info...again.
