Everything said above is good, but I also prime the filter housing prior to installing filter & top. Save on having to keep turning the key several times.

The cap should be torqued to 25ftlbs.

I know you're done for now but, I use a 24" extension on my 1/2" drive and it works great. You're up and out of the motor compartment. Hope this helps next time...
