Hmmmm. Maybe I could paint one on to make me feel better.
After struggling several times to get grease in to mine with the blunt end fitting, this time I was doing an Xfer case oil change and had the protection plate off (four bolts). Man, oh man, that was so much easier to grease the driveshaft. Got a good square straight shot and the grease went right in.

I use both of these, the B-5783 is designed to mate with the tapered surface of the zerk. I run my truck on extended drain oil changes, since the only time I grease it is when I am servicing it I just remove the shaft and grease it on a vice. To me the 5 minutes it takes me to remove it save a ton of aggravation.
