Front axle universal joints

Since I bought my truck in Aug 06 I am now on my second set of front axle universal joints, the first set went in Apr 09 at 53000 M and now again at 100000 M ,maybe its all the rain we get,but the pattern seems to be 3-4 yrs or 50000 M,just wondering if this is average or what and if there are better after market ones out there.Thx

Use 4wd alot?
That seems unusual. 105k on my 07 now, orig ujoints. For 3 winters in the CO mtns it was driven in 4wd avg couple times a week at least on 70 mi round trips on the highway in 4wd. Bet it got 10k mi in 4wd at 60-70mph.
Other than that, just occasional snow/trips to the mtns using 4wd.

Stock ones lasted me about 72k (just barely out of warranty of course). Sounds like the replacement set weren't very good quality. Get good ones this time, and with lifetime warranty.

Just replaced mine. 116k mi with minimal 4X4 use. In 4wd maybe a dozen times a year.
