front axle info

I think my wheel bearings are going. Does anyone offer a non-sealed bearing assembly for these trucks, or do I have replace the whole spindle every time. I have 140000km on the truck, & that seems a little premature for wheel bearings to be wore out. Is this a common problem with this front axle? Its a 2003 2500 4x4.

What are your symptoms that make you suspect the wheel bearings? I know ball joints don't seem to last long on these trucks...

You can do the free spin axle conversion kits then it uses cheaper common bearings

If you stay with factory sealed, pull out the ABS sensor and add grease through the hole. Check once a year after that.

90,000 miles is a little premature. You cannot get separate bearings for it, you have to get the complete hub/bearing assembly, no way out, all the brands have them this way anymore.

I just replaced my left side and today will do my right side. Best price so far is $ 270 + shipping (each) OEM from a dealer online.

Advance Auto Parts has them for $ 270 also.

I get a growling noise with a slight vibration, when I turn the wheel slightly to the right.
