If you use a strap wrench from the top, it doesn't matter whether it has flutes or not. Easy to change plus I get to check the turbo for dusting or other stuff.

No it is not a Stratapore filter, it's just the plain old standard paper oil filter they make for Dodge.

Thanks, then it's definately not such a "deal". Wally-World had them for $9 a filter. I think I'll just stick w/ the 16035's I've used all along.

So, ultimatly, is the LF3972 a compatable filter for a 2005? I walked into 5 of these free at work

and would like to use them. I assume that they are good. Input? thanks! -Tim-

The LF3972 is NOT a stratopore. YOur question is it a compatible filter for an '05 is answered at this link
