Fleetguard Oil filters

Will a fleetguard oil filter for a 2005 application work on an 06 truck? I was going to order from geno's but they only have 03-05 oil filters, I am assuming this will work on an 06 also. 7500 miles between oil changes sounds like to much to me. My truck is a work truck in the woods and gets hard miles, the oil looks awful dirty to me on the dipstick, I would feel better to change it between 3000 - 5000.

The 04.5 and newer trucks with the "600" motor turn the oil black real quick due to a 3rd injection of fuel into the cylinder to keep exhaust temps up for the cat. Nothing wrong with it all, just looks like crap.
