Fleetguard oil filters-which one?
Fleetguard oil filters-which one?
Can I use a Fleetguard LF3894 (Stratopore) on my 96 12V? I am a little confused because someplaces list the LF3552 (Microglass) for the 12V and LF3894 for the 24V as the upgrade filters. Thanks

This is what I am talking about
, some say it will work on the 12V and others say 24V only. I know that it is the same physical size and treads but maybe there is some other reason like, the bypass valve is different or the can is stronger (for higher pressures) or an anti-drainback valve. I like the idea of the Stratopore design and would like to run it on my 12V, but would still like to know why it is not listed for my application?

Glenn

Use the LF 3894 for the best filtration. You can use a 24 valve filter on a 12 valve but not the other way around. The 24 valve filters are designed for higher oil pressure and thus the compatibilty I listed above.
