Filters for '03 HO
Filters for '03 HO
Do any of you have numbers for oil and air filters for the '03?
I have tried to contact K&N and AFE but have not received a reply yet. I am in need of an oil filter # immediately. I have access to Balwin(sp.?) and Wix where I live. Are these acceptable? thanks from a former powerstroke owner. Popeye.

Re:Filters for '03 HO
I don't know if Wix and Baldwin are approved filters for our Cummins. They are good filters but Cummins is fickle about what filters you can use. I use Fleetguard filters which is owned by Cummins and I belive that they are a high quality filter. You can get them at http://www.genosgarage.com/ as well as other maintenance and appearence Items. As far as air filters go I know aFe has air filters available because guy's over at TDR and probably this site are using them. However they just hit the streets within the last week so that's why you probably haven't seen them.
Re:Filters for '03 HO
I purchased two oil filters at the dealership when I took delivery of my truck. They were $16.00 each. Wow wee :'( I have seen posts that say they are the same as the Gen 2 24 valve filters except that they have the fluting for the cup type oil filter wrench. I paid appx. $9.00 for the filters at the dealer for my previous 01.5 CTD. Hopefully the dealers will lower the price after they have been on the market for a while.

Fleetguard Stratopore - LF16035
Fleetguard Standard - LF3972
I just ordered a case of the Stratopore from Geno's and got the 6-in-1 filter wrench. It might have worked better if the oil filter wasn't put on by Hercules at the factory.

Re:Filters for '03 HO
Is it 3972 or 3792 for the Fleetguard? Because I'm having a hard time finding an approved filter locally, I resorted back to the Wix that I used on my 2001.5 for many miles with no problems. I've seen the approved filter list for the 2002's, but nothing as of yet for the 2003's??? IMO Dodge would have a hell of a time not honoring your warranty since they don't provide the owners with this "approved filter" list. Unfortunately they have tons of $$$ and could make our banks break in a court of law proving us neglectful or whatever.

As Big Ed said, check www.genosgarage.com for all the current part numbers for Fleetguard filters.

Casey
