Fuel Control Actuator question

Anyone know how to diagnose the FCA? I have had a problem with the engine missing shortly after start up and it is intermittent. I have had all 6 injectors replaced and it stopped for a couple weeks, then it came back the other day. I checked a fuel sample and there is no water visible. I checked the wires near the oil filter and there is no signs of chaffing. I also checked crank sensor plug and injector harness plug (next to valve cover), there were no loose plugs and no signs of loose or broken wires. Someone on anther forum was having some similar issues and the fix was a new FCA. Thoughts?

take it out and shake it, if u feel and hear the metal metering cylinder it should be ok....they stick closed when they go bad. i belive there are only 2 little bolts holding it in.

Add a large slug of diesel fuel treat/lube or two stroke ashless oil to fuel.If symptons clear up with treated fuel and return in the next tank or two of UNTREATED fuel its more then likely a sticking FCA.
