Engine Code
Engine Code
This morning I got brave and decided to remove the silencer ring. That all went fine then I started up the truck. The check engine light came on and stayed on. I quickly turned it off and realized I didn't connect the sensor on the top of the air filter. After turning the truck ignition on and off three times and seeing the error codes 073 and 107 the light is now off. But I can still get back in and see the codes if I want. Is there any way to permanently remove the code other then taking it to a dealer?
Thanks,
Kevin
Thanks,
Kevin
Re:Engine Code
Not sure how many ignition cycles it will take, but eventually they will clear, as long as the code doesn't set again. Another way is to disconnect your batteries and wait for to memory in the EMC to clear.
Re:Engine Code
Thanks guys. I think I'll try the engine cycles thing first. If that doesn't work I'll disconnect the battery and wait. And if all else fails I'll see what parts store can do it for me.
